Honey Walnut Shrimp

This honey walnut shrimp recipe is a quick and easy way to enjoy a restaurant-quality dish at home. In just 20 minutes, you’ll have crispy, golden shrimp coated in a creamy honey sauce and topped with crunchy candied walnuts. Ingredients

Candied Walnuts

  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup pure honey
  • ½ cup walnut pieces

Honey Sauce

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp pure honey
  • 1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Fried Shrimp

  • 1 lb jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups vegetable or peanut oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Make the Candied Walnuts

    • In a small pot over medium heat, bring the water and honey to a boil.
    • Add the walnuts and simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
    • Transfer the walnuts to a parchment-lined tray to cool.
  2. Prepare the Honey Sauce

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, honey, sweetened condensed milk, and lemon juice.
    • Set aside until ready to toss with the shrimp.
  3. Fry the Shrimp

    • In a medium bowl, season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
    • Sprinkle with cornstarch and toss to coat evenly.
    • Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat (about 350°F).
    • Fry the shrimp until golden brown, about 3 minutes per batch.
    • Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  4. Assemble and Serve

    • Toss the fried shrimp with the honey sauce until evenly coated.
    • Top with candied walnuts and garnish with green onions if desired.
    • Serve with rice, chow mein noodles, or steamed broccoli.
